Let’s Build a Japan We Can Proudly Present to the World
Until now, global disability policies and information have largely been concentrated in so-called “developed” countries—primarily in Europe and North America—where the headquarters of international disability organizations have traditionally been located.
In contrast, Japan’s approaches, perspectives, and stance on disability—rooted in our national character and historical “DNA”—are both highly original and, in many ways, advanced on a global scale. We believe that Japan holds the potential and the capability to take on the responsibility and role of becoming a “new type of developed nation” in the global arena.
We are committed to realizing and expanding that potential. To achieve this, it is essential to work in partnership, gain broad support, and grow our activities. As a foundation for this vision, we are taking a new step by establishing an international headquarters here in Japan.
Furthermore, we will expand this conference in stages, increasing our network of allies and strengthening cooperation.
This conference marks the first step toward integrating and expanding policy, economy, culture, education, and community collaboration. Through these efforts, we aim to build a global model of full inclusion and lead the world toward a society where no one is left behind.
PEACE INCLUSION PIECE
