We are an international disability organization headquartered in Japan, established under a new name in January 2025. Guided by our vision of a world where no one is left behind, we were founded out of a strong determination to build the organization that most closely embodies this ideal. Through collaboration with people and organizations around the world, we also work to advance genuine international peace that transcends borders. In 2026, we launched our Global Headquarters and introduced a membership system. We warmly invite individuals and partners who share our mission to join us and support our work.

Participation and Presentation at NGO CSW70 in New York
On March 12, 2026, PEACE INCLUSION PIECE participated in and presented at NGO CSW70, held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. During the session, which took place from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM New York time, Chitose Namboku delivered a presentation under the theme “Inclusive Justice for Women.” The presentation addressed what inclusive justice means for women with disabilities and what needs to change in order to realize it. The session also included an open discussion with participants, providing a valuable opportunity to exchange views and deepen understanding from diverse perspectives. The challenges faced by women with disabilities are closely connected to multiple issues, including gender, rights, social participation, and opportunities for decision-making. Through this dialogue, we reaffirmed the importance of more concrete and effective discussions, as well as continued collaboration, in order to advance inclusive justice for women with disabilities.
Participation and Presentation at the 34th Session of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Geneva
On March 9, 2026, PEACE INCLUSION PIECE participated in the opening session of the 34th Session of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD Committee), held at the United Nations Office at Geneva. Chitose Namboku, together with Shiko Kurihara, Deputy Representative Director of PIP, had the honor of participating in the session and making a presentation. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the valuable opportunity to meet and connect with many distinguished members and stakeholders, including the Chair of the Committee, the Vice-Chair, the former Chair, and Committee Member Hiroshi Tamon. It was a great honor for us to share our perspectives on the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities on the international stage. This year, PIP is planning to hold the CRPD 20th Anniversary Forum at Haneda Airport in Tokyo, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Toward the realization of a world where no one is left behind, we will continue to take on new challenges and move forward together with partners in Japan and around the world.
Singapore × Japan Inclusion Dialogue 2026 Held at Enabling Village in Singapore
On February 4, 2026, PEACE INCLUSION PIECE held the Singapore × Japan Inclusion Dialogue 2026 at the UOB Ability Hub Hall, Enabling Village in Singapore. Under the theme “Inclusive Asia: Co-Creation and Empowerment,” the dialogue brought together stakeholders from Singapore and Japan to exchange views on advancing inclusion, co-creation, and empowerment across Asia. The event was attended by a diverse range of participants, including representatives from the Singapore government, disability leaders from the Asia-Pacific region, corporate representatives, and practitioners from welfare, employment, and civil society organizations in Japan. Participants shared knowledge and practices developed through their respective work, as well as possibilities for future regional collaboration. The dialogue reaffirmed the importance of cross-border and cross-sector exchange in building a more inclusive Asia.
About the Robert Martin Award
The Robert Martin Award was established to honor the achievements of Sir Robert Martin, the first person with an intellectual disability to serve on the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and to promote a society where people with intellectual disabilities around the world can thrive. This award was created with the formal approval of Ms. Amalia Gamio, Vice Chair of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Honorary Chairperson of our organization, as well as the Government of New Zealand and Sir Robert’s family.
UN Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai – UNV Talk Show Participation
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Chitose Namboku, Representative Director of PEACE INCLUSION PIECE, participated as a panelist in the talk show titled “Volunteering for a Future Where Everyone Can Thrive – Harnessing the Power of Equity, Diversity, and Participation,” hosted by the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme at the United Nations Pavilion, Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

Presentation at the United Nations Office at Geneva
On March 3, 2025, the opening ceremony of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities was held at the United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland. During this important occasion, we had the honor of presenting the founding principles and past activities of our organization. Our efforts to promote the rights and social participation of persons with disabilities were widely introduced to the international community, receiving significant attention and interest from many stakeholders. It was also announced at the event that the Vice Chair of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has been appointed as the Honorary Chairperson of our organization. With their global perspective and extensive experience, their involvement is expected to further strengthen the effectiveness and impact of our initiatives. Moving forward, we will continue working in close collaboration with the United Nations and related institutions around the world to realize a society where all people can live together with dignity.
International Art Exhibition at Berlin Brandenburg Airport
From March 31 to April 4, 2025, an international art exhibition featuring works by artists with disabilities was held at Berlin Brandenburg International Airport in Germany. A total of 249 artworks, created by individuals with disabilities from 15 different countries, were showcased on digital advertising screens throughout the airport. The diverse and imaginative creations captured the attention of countless travelers and visitors, offering moments of deep inspiration and new perspectives. This initiative has been highly acclaimed as an international project that promotes understanding of disability through art, while celebrating the power of individual expression and creativity. Building on the success of this exhibition, similar displays are now scheduled to take place at international airports in several other countries. We will continue to bring the beauty and message of inclusive art to people around the world—through the global stage of international airports.
PEACE INCLUSION PIECE Exhibition at the GDS Berlin Global Summit
From April 1 to 3, 2025, our organization proudly presented the PEACE INCLUSION PIECE exhibition at the GDS Berlin Global Summit, a global conference dedicated to the rights, inclusion, and empowerment of persons with disabilities, held in Berlin, Germany. This exhibition showcased a diverse collection of artworks and messages created by individuals with disabilities from around the world. Centered on the themes of peace, coexistence, and diversity, the exhibition aimed to highlight the transformative power of inclusive expression and the universal importance of recognizing every person’s dignity. Throughout the summit, visitors from various countries engaged with our work, sparking meaningful conversations about accessibility, representation, and the value of inclusive communities. Many participants expressed strong interest and appreciation for the way the exhibition combined creativity with advocacy. This opportunity reaffirmed our belief that building a more inclusive society requires not only national efforts but also global collaboration, where mutual understanding and shared responsibility transcend cultural and geographic boundaries. As we look ahead, we will continue to promote inclusive values through international partnerships and creative initiatives, working towards a world in which everyone—regardless of ability—is seen, heard, and respected.
